Words cannot describe how amazing Bermuda is, but bear with me as I attempt to put this incredible experience into Times New Roman size 12. Upon coming to this incredible place I was primarily focused on getting underneath the water and seeing the unique ecosystems this island had to offer. It took me one day on land to realize how special this place is. Not only because of the one in a million chance that this island could even exist, but the entire culture and aesthetics of Bermuda are unparalleled to any other place in the world. Most people don’t understand how small this island is. 21 square miles. But like an unlit firework; it’s packed tightly with a heck of a show. All you need to do is strike the match, sit back and watch. That Roman candle is going to send off beautiful displays of smiles, cliffs, coastlines, ancient caverns and Mother Nature at her finest.
I could go on about how beautiful Bermuda is, but in all honesty that isn’t what changed my life for the better. The people here are more than just hospitable, they are willing to give you the shirt off their back. Seriously, I traded shirts with the captain of our boat on the deck. We were fortunate enough to work with the amazing students from Bermuda College. It turns out the world isn’t as big as it seems. We aren’t so different; we have the same taste in music, leisure activities, sense of humor, food, and did I mention leisure activities. It turns out, one of the students has family in the states that lives within five minutes of me. One can say plans have already been made to rendezvous in the very near future. I think I can speak for all of us when I say the people of Bermuda are some of the most passionate, and friendly hosts in the world.
