Beijing 798 Art Zone was a beauty! While some of the group went to Xi’an five of us stayed behind to discover more of what Beijing had to offer. Before walking around the art district we passed by numerous Western styled restaurants and decided to stop at one called Vantt. The weather was beautiful that day giving us an opportunity to eat outside while being able to admire the scenery. We decided to get some fries and smoothies which were delicious!
The Art Zone was fairly modern and contemporary. Most of us visited some art galleries, which had some outstanding artwork. We walked along a street that had graffiti along one side of the wall and had some fun taking pictures. I enjoyed watching the Chinese natives take pictures with the art as I’ve found they enjoy modern pieces including clothing. I have to say, they love to taking pictures with their selfie sticks.
There were also some neat stores to go into at the art zone where I was able to get a few souvenirs. I was impressed at finding a Michael Jackson post card and notebook. Well I have to say, I loved the Beijing 798 Art Zone!
